    In 1967 in tamil nadu their more bonded labourers worked for landlord without no wages only for food. When 1rupee rice came many people came out from bonded labourers and ask their landlord proper wages for their work.
    2) the laptop for school students. Which helps for their studies In COVID times for past two years then the tamilnadu govt itself starts won satellite education channel named kalvi channel. In which it teaches for all students from 1std to 12 std in particular time interval.
    3) some media and institute will say it is freebies it is not a freebie it is a social engineering process. Upliftment of poor.
    All poor are paying indirect taxes. For their buying products. In the name of GST. How will you give back the money to them by directly.
    Not only by freebies the state becomes debt. The main reason by corruption in discom in importing of coal.

    Thanks for taking up the topic. A lot of literature is coming up on this issue. The recent RBI report on the debt situation of states try & define what could be considered as a freebie or a genuine welfare measure. A recent SC judgement also advises the govt. to approach the Finance commission (only instrument coordinating between the centre & states after the erstwhile Planning commission) to simplify the situation. The article shown earlier in the IE is by N.K. Singh, the former chairman of the finance commission & is a detailed one. There is one more article published in the Hindu by Kalaiyasaran A. which presents a bit of contradictory view. Btw whenever I try & attach a link the comment doesn't get posted, Sorry for that. But, please do check the article out 🙏🙏

    What is the difference between '"freebie" or revadi and "NPA or other Write offs". Only difference is freebie is petty amount to poor and down trodden and "write offs" ,to rich Corporates, who indirectly route money to political parties and politicians
    Of course distribution of any goods can be checked, but not "free health, free education, free drinking water" which are constitutionally mandated. Again subsidised electricity and transport to poor and down trodden should be considered a welfare act.
    Now who is a "Tax Payer"? Till recently an Income Tax Payer was considered as tax payer which now a days looks farce. Because GST paid by each citizen poor, down trodden, lower middile and middle which category constitute 80 to 90% of population. Even excise duty to petrol products are also lagely shared by the non rich category.
    Now the question do the lower category of population get their due pro rata share of GDP, means the fruits of development? A big no is the answer.
    So the lower segment be brought up by paying free health, education, and other subsidised services like water, electricity, transport etc.
    The current sudden rise of question is clearly understandable to be a BJP sponsored project to prevent Kejriwal to capture India, but will fail, by all means. Politicians and parties must realise that " Voters are Masters" not those to whom votes are cast. It is good if better sense prevail in the initial stage only.

      so true. This crony capitalistic govt decreased corporate taxes and calls the welfare products given to poor public a freebie. Propagandist govt

    Subsidies aren't freebies. They should not be. They are different from freebies. Subsidy could be granted to enhance welfare and production in a certain way. But, freebies are a medium to gain political support .

    Subsidies, we get after spending or producing or contributing in the economy, it is a help to bear the cost, while freebies have no role in the Development.

    How freebies can help lesser developed state???

    • @DrishtiIASEnglish
      @DrishtiIASEnglish  2 года назад +1

      Dear aspirant,
      Glad you asked the question for better enlightenment.
      Well, let's take a state which has a relatively lower level of development but it has a larger share of the population suffering from poverty, now in that case, such kind of freebies become need based
      Hence, it becomes essential to provide the people with such subsidies for their own upliftment.
      The freebies can serve as welfare in such states.
      For better and more knowledge on the topic, you can look at the article given below:

    Why freebies are dangerous? If corruption isn't.

    • @prabuddhatripathi
      @prabuddhatripathi 2 года назад

      Becoz freebies leads to rise in prices
      If someone is not paying the money then someone else has to
      If poor are not paying than middle class has to bear this burden
      And middle class are back bone of the country i dont think so it's good for long term see what happened to Sri Lanka becoz of freebies

    • @prabuddhatripathi

      There is 0% chance of recession in India( Bloomberg report) but freebie culture can change everything
      Please spread this message
      Giving jobs is better than giving free electricity,water etc
